As an instructor, he finds great satisfaction in developing both beginning and seasoned golfers into polished players. Tour Golf Academy
The Professional Golf School in Southern Pines, NC is self dubbed the "World's Smallest Golf School" to highlight their focus on personalized attention. Students work closely under the watchful eye of Bob Dougherty, named one of Golf Digest's "Top Teachers in America" and was selected as the Iowa's "PGA Teacher of the Year" for 1999. Bob has been teaching golf for over thirty-five years, and it has been said of Bob that a swing does not exist that he cannot fix. He has worked with Bob Toski at the Golf Digest schools and Jimmy Ballard at the Doral Resort in Miami, and has worked with many tour players, including Fuzzy Zoeller, Jim Gallagher, Larry Gilbert, Jim O'Hearn, Jim Barber, Dave Ogrin, Ray Freeman - Canadian tour. The school is based at the Highland Hills Golf Resort - nestled in the tall longleaf pines in the Pinehurst area. It is considered 18 of the finest holes ever designed by architect Tom Jackson. The resort has all the facilities a golfer could want with an exceptional chipping and putting green to work on that all important short game. The school includes state of the art video analysis, a 9 hole daily playing lesson with your instructor, and individual attention on all aspects of your golf game.
